So today I got a hit on one Get a Freelancer bid I had made. The potential client wanted a short article written as a test sample. Perfectly reasonable in my mind.
So in the ten (10) or so minutes it took me to pen the 351 words on the topic of choice something I had learned years ago working in administrative capacities at an Ad Agency, then in Marketing Departments in a then Fortune 500 company, came back to mind. I cut it from the article, it was too good to not keep for myself.
Here is what I had written, then kept
'It has been shown that on an average it takes seventeen exposures to a single television commercial before the average American consumer will retain knowledge of that commercial. Does not mean that after seventeen exposures the watcher will use the product or service, it just means it takes that much to impact on the conscious level.'
I know that is taught somewhere in marketing or advertising classes. My knowledge is all experiential. But it bears repeating here.
If indeed it does take a minimum of 17 times passed before your eyes, this can easily be adapted to how to use the Internet to market yourself. Which is what I am frankly doing. Using the Internet to market my skills in writing so I can find more work to improve my financial standing, while doing what I love and am meant to do as well.
So in that vein I went and made a Squidoo Lens. Here is the link to my page over there.
Just one more way to work on getting my name out there for others to find.
Have a good night, more soon.
